Responsibilities

• To identify the sort and extent of the work required, read designs and instructions and inspect surfaces.

• Prepare the area on-site by constructing scaffolding, covering fixtures, etc.
• By scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint, etc., prepare walls and other surfaces for painting.

• Fill holes and cracks using the proper substance (e.g. plaster)

• To achieve the desired hue or texture, combine paint and other materials.

• Apply paint to surfaces as directed using a variety of equipment.

• Use varnish and other finishing touches

• Determine costs and strike a deal on prices.

• Follow all health and safety instructions.

Requirements

• A history of success as a painter

• excellent understanding of painting materials, including how to choose, combine and use them.

• strong expertise in commercial painting procedures and/or building painting techniques
• ability to use the right tools (brushes, caulking guns, etc.)

• good mathematical foundation

• Excellent balance and manual dexterity are required to work on scaffolding, ladders, etc.
