Part-time Online Universities in Canada
Part-time studies can lead to the following programs: (one or two courses per term). The length of time it takes to get a degree depends on how many courses you take each year.
1. Liberal Studies (Bachelor of Arts)
Liberal Studies is what most universities call a liberal arts degree. It lets you study a wide range of topics in the humanities, social sciences, languages and cultures, fine and performing arts, and other areas. You can also take courses from Waterloo’s other faculties if you want to.
- Liberal Studies degree that takes three years
- Liberal Studies degree that takes four years
- A four-year degree with honors in Liberal Studies
If you can go to classes during the day, you may be able to choose another major in the Faculty of Arts. Part-time studies can include both in-person and online courses. Most students don’t choose a major until they have finished their first year. Once they have been accepted, transfer students can email artsadvisor@uwaterloo.ca to talk about how to choose a major.
2. Studies of social development (Bachelor of Arts)
