Getting ready for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates in May/June 2023/2024? We're happy to report that the official exam schedule has been published. For Nigerian applicants, we've posted the 2023 WAEC schedule below.

The schedule for the May/June exams (for school candidates) in 2023 has been issued by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). The WASSCE timeline is crucial in assisting candidates in making adequate exam preparations.


By urging the applicants to abstain from all forms of exam misconduct, WAEC asks them to follow the rules and guidelines governing its administration.

WAEC Exam Date for May/June

The 2023/2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) is scheduled to start on May 8th, 2023, and end on June 23rd, 2023, for school applicants.


For pupils in The Gambia, Liberia, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone, this significant exam represents a significant turning point. It is extremely encouraged that all applicants begin their preparations as soon as possible because the exam dates are drawing near. The right amount of preparation will not only increase students' confidence but will also give them the knowledge and abilities they need to succeed in the test. Remember that a well-organized study schedule and a dedication to diligence are essential for getting excellent outcomes in the WASSCE.

2023 WAEC Timetable

In order to help you prepare for the 2023 WASSCE for school candidates, which will begin on May 8, 2023, we are happy to provide you with the WAEC Timetable 2023.

Important Remarks


1. If there is a time difference between the question paper's duration and the timetable, follow the question paper's duration.

2. Questionnaires Distributed Ahead of Time:

4. Two weeks prior to the exam, schools received instructions for Paper 3A.

5. Paper 3B: Two weeks prior to the exam, applicants were given the question paper.

6. Paper 3C: Projects completed in less than six months; Council-advertised deadline.

7. Three days prior to the exam, the question paper for Practical 3: Block Laying, Bricklaying, and Concrete Works was distributed.

8. Project Work Papers: The delivery date for the question papers for painting and decorating, dyeing and bleaching, and manufacturing and repairing leather goods was announced through the schools two weeks in advance.

9. Candidates with Special Needs Are Allowed 1.5 Times the Time Allowed to Other Candidates.
