ATIBA UNIVERSITY, OYO

Atiba University was founded in December 2017 as a place to store and share knowledge in a world where knowledge resources will become more important than material resources for economic growth and social development. In line with the vision of the Proprietor, the planned institutional values of Atiba University and its economic, cultural, and social effects in Nigeria and around the world will not only grow but also shine.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) in Abuja officially registered Atiba University on December 6, 2017, and gave it a temporary license to run as a private university on December 19, 2017.

What We Believe

Atiba University Oyo's academic programs and activities are based on and shaped by a pragmatic egalitarian theory of education. Our vision and purpose statements, as well as the University's strategic operational goals, are based on this philosophy.

Vision

To build, maintain, and spread a culture of excellence in teaching, learning, research, and innovation through a competitive interdisciplinary curriculum structure, program, and community involvement.

Mission

To provide learning that changes people for the rest of their lives and to encourage people to get the generic skills, knowledge, and values they need for self-reliance, good citizenship, creative thought, and service to the community.

OAU Mentorship

On March 8, 2018, the leaders of Atiba University, Oyo, led by Alhaji Abdulrahman Idris (BOT Chair), and Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife (OAU), led by the Vice Chancellor and the Principal Officers, met at Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife to plan a practical road map for the growth and development of Atiba University. For a five-year probationary term, OAU will be in charge of the academics and running of the university. OAU will give advice from experts on some of the most important academic and administrative problems. The choice of OAU was made on purpose because OAU has a long history of academic success and a high standard of behavior that is expected to guide and help the new school grow into an academically mature place.
