The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is administered by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Admission to Nigerian universities, polytechnics, colleges, and other higher education institutions requires passing this yearly computer-based exam.

The results of the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) have been released by JAMB. 1,595,779 applicants registered for the exam, which was administered at 708 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers in 105 test locations across the country.

Candidates can now readily access their UTME results online or through SMS for 2023 and prior years. You will require a device with an internet connection in order to access your UTME result online. For applicants without internet access or those who live in places with spotty network service, the SMS technique might be a better alternative. But be aware that network providers might charge a fee for this service.

How to Check 2023 JAMB Result Offline (via SMS)

With the same phone number they registered with, candidates can now send "UTME RESULT" or "UTMERESULT" via SMS to 55019 or 66019 (be sure you have a minimum credit balance of N50). Soon after, you'll get an answer through SMS. Expect the subsequent reactions:

1. If a candidate enters a phone number that has not been registered, they will see a notification that reads, "This phone number was not used for registration."

2. Messages like "Dear Mr/Miss X, your result is as follows... (followed by the details)" would be sent to candidates who have results.

3. The candidate will see the notice "Result Withheld" if a result is withheld.

4. Candidates who are awarded a second chance will receive the following message: "Result withheld pending the upload of clarifications/document required from you."

5. A "CANDIDATE ABSENT" notification will be delivered to absent candidates.

6. A candidate would be informed if their registration number was canceled because they were not present.

7. Candidates who enter the exam room illegally will receive an "Invalid Entrance into the Exam Hall" warning.

Advice to JAMB Candidates on UTME Result

It's crucial to be aware that there are con artists who offer to enhance JAMB results. We strongly caution JAMB candidates from falling for these tricks because once results have been reviewed online or via SMS, they cannot be changed.
