Nigeria's Top 5 Largest States
Borno State, with a size of 72,600 square kilometers and latitudes 100N and 140N and longitudes 11030'E and 14045'E, is the largest state in the federation in terms of landmass. The state's population is projected to be more than 5 million people. The state is divided into two primary vegetation zones: Sahel in the north, which has severe desert encroachment and covers much of the Chad Basin areas, and Sudan Savannah in the south, which has scrubby vegetation with towering tree woods.
