NYU Admits Record-Low 8% of Applicants to Class of 2027 

NYU has just sent out acceptance letters for the Class of 2027. Nearly 120,000 first-year students applied to the university, which is 13% more than last year and another record number of applications. Only 8% of the people who applied to NYU's New York campus were accepted, which is the lowest rate in the school's history.


NYU announced the results of their normal decisions. For the Class of 2026, there were 13% more first-year applications, which added up to nearly 120,000. The college has not said how many people they have taken into their school.

Acceptance Criteria for NYU for 2027



One of the most diverse classes NYU has ever welcomed is the Class of 2027. With nearly 26% of the students identifying as American Indian/Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, Black/African American, or Hispanic, it is predicted that there will not be a racial or ethnic majority. Additionally, 20% of the accepted students are Pell Grant recipients, and 19% of them identify as the first in their families to attend college. All 50 US states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and 86 other countries are represented among the nations where applicants to NYU are accepted.
