Relocation of RSUST to Greater Port Harcourt City
The Rivers State Government has finished making plans for a new city called Greater Port Harcourt City. This city will be built to make Port Harcourt less crowded. It is already being built up, and the Rivers State University of Science and Technology will move to a new campus that will be built as part of the new city. According to the government's mission statement, "The new University will be a leading center of academic excellence in Africa and beyond. It will be a world-class university with world-class facilities, staffed by a team of committed administrators, academics, and researchers of high caliber who share the founding vision of the new University to be ranked among the top 1,000 universities in the world by 2020." When this goal is reached, it is hoped that there will be no question that RSUST is the best in Nigeria and even Africa.
