 List Of NDA Courses And Admission Requirements

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has four faculties and offers 19 courses in total. The faculties include those for the arts, social sciences, engineering, science, and cyber security.


Please be aware that admission to the Nigerian Defence Academy is strictly based on merit.  Additionally, the Academy will never request payment to sway admittance.

BSc Logistics and Supply Chain Management

BEng Civil Engineering

BEng Electrical and Electronics Engineering

BEng Electrical and Electronics Engineering

BEng Mechanical Engineering

BSc Biological Sciences

BSc Chemistry

BSc Computer Science

BSc Mathematics

When students finish all of the above courses at NDA, they will get an honor degree in one of the core subjects (BSc, BEng, or BA). They will both get a commission in the Armed Forces of Nigeria from the President.

Candidates who are accepted into the NDA for the Regular Course will train as Officer Cadets for 5 years for the Nigerian Army and 4 years for the Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Airforce.


NDA Admission Requirements


1. A minimum of five O-level credits from GCE, SSCE, WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB in English language, math, and three other courses that are relevant to the intended program, earned in no more than two sittings.

2. You must be at least 17 years old and no older than 21 as of August 2019.

3. Passed the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) and reached an acceptable minimum national standard (as decided by JAMB's annual policy meeting) in English language, Mathematics, and any other two subjects relevant to the planned course of study, as outlined in the JAMB brochure.

4. Candidates can only take the screening test if they meet the standards for admission and have a UTME score of 180 for Arts and Social Sciences, 210 for Science, and 210 for Engineering.

5. The same course must be chosen on both the JAMB and NDA portals.

6. The UTME topics you choose must go with the course you want to take at NDA.

7. Men must be at least 1.68 meters tall and women must be at least 1.65 meters tall
.
8. They must be physically and medically fit, and they must have good morals.

9. To be selected for selection, your BMI must be between 18.5 and 25.5 kg/m2.

10. They must be single and not be required by law to assist a child or other person.

11. Show a Certificate of Inheritance from the State Government or Local Government Area.

12. Being able to communicate in French, Arabic, or Mandarin is a plus.

13. Forms of application that don't include results from the O level will not be accepted

14. Candidates who are still waiting for results do not qualify.

15. Only O-level test results that are less than five years old from the date of the exam will be accepted.

16. Only Nigerian men and women can get into the Academy, but the Nigerian Air Force is not taking women as candidates right now.

Important Notice


Those who want to join the Nigerian Air Force must be between the ages of 17 and 19 when they join.
The Nigerian Air Force has stopped women from signing up for Regular Combatant training in NDA.
