What types of family are there In Nigeria?  

How many different kinds of families are there? Some people want a big, happy family, and most people dream of having kids and want to start a family. Some kids are raised in traditional families with a mother, father, and other typical members. What about people who grow up in other places?

The family is where love and care come from. This is the first place where we learn things, get skills, and gain experience that we try to use in the rest of the world. The idea of family has changed a lot in the last few years. The traditional family is made up of a mother, a father, and their children. Today, there are many other kinds of families. As time goes by, the world changes, and so do other things. We have chosen six household structures that are common in the modern world.

We've all heard of situations where one parent raises the child. Sometimes a child is left without a parent and is raised by his grandmother and grandfather. This and many other situations like it happen in our modern world. How would you explain each of these buildings? You can tell what each type of household is by looking at a list of the most common ones

1. Nuclear family 

This kind is the most common. It gets its name from the Latin word "nucleus," which means "center." In our case, the center of any home is the marriage of a man and a woman. A father, a mother, and their children make up this traditional structure. Most people in the world think of the family in this way. A family is not considered to be "nuclear" if at least one grandparent lives with a married couple. It is a longer version of the word house. On the other hand, a family is not a nuclear family if at least one parent does not live with his or her spouse and children.

2. Single-parent family 

It's a family with only one parent and one or more kids. There are many things that can lead to this kind of family, such as a child being born outside of a marriage, the death of one of the parents, the end of a marriage, or the parents living apart. Some of time, social services help these families. Most of the time, family or friends can help a parent raise a child. They can look after the child while the parents are at work.

3. Childless family 

Even though many couples want kids, some people don't want them or can't have them. People often don't see these families as a whole because they don't fit the traditional idea of a family. Some people decide they don't want children.

Also, one partner may have trouble getting pregnant, making it impossible to have children. There are times when a parent has a genetic disease that is easy to pass on to a child. In these cases, the couple decides not to have a child to stop the disease from spreading, which can severely affect the child's life.

Couples can also be focused on their jobs and see work as their life's goal instead of having children. People in this situation can buy pets or stay close to families with kids. Also, over time, these couples have the chance to adopt a child. Low incomes, like not having a place to live or making too little money, can be a reason for not having children. People in this situation often think that the child's absence is just a short-term thing.

4. Extended family 

An extended family is a group of people who are connected not just by blood, but also by other kinds of family ties and property. Families with many members can be both full and empty. A full extended household has a married couple, children (or no children), one or two parents of one of the spouses, and other relatives. If children from a previous marriage live with one of the parents, this is not an extended family but a nuclear family.

A single mother or father with children is not a full extended family. The mother or father's parents and other relatives also live with them. A family with only a mother or a father is not considered to be complete. Bringing up a child in this kind of family can be hard because the more people there are, the more opinions there are. Everyone has their own ideas about how to raise a child. This can cause adverse consequences.

5. Stepfamily 

This form is filled out when one or both of the spouses want to bring their children from previous marriages together with their own children. A family like this is still considered to be nuclear, but it has a different setup. Relationships in these kinds of families are not easy. The pasts of spouses can make it hard to have healthy relationships in the home. Often, a couple thinks they will be able to get all the kids to get along. Adults may think that everything will be the same as it was before, but they are often disappointed when they find that there are many problems. A new parent might not pay attention to their child.
