Immigrate to Canada from Nigeria

Nigerians choose to move to Canada because it has a lot of job opportunities in fields that Nigerian professionals are interested in, like oil and gas, information and communication technology (ICT), health, and other science and engineering-related fields.

Canada also has many benefits, such as a stable government, a strong economy, a well-developed healthcare system, and an education system that is known all over the world.

About 70,000 Canadians who were born in Nigeria now live there, and that number keeps growing every year. Most Nigerians come to Canada as skilled workers. As Canada continues to accept more immigrants every year, the number of Nigerians living there is likely to grow even more than it does now.

How do you move to Canada from Nigeria?

Nigerians have a good chance of getting into Canada's immigration programs because they speak English well, have a high level of education, and have a lot of work experience.

Federal Skilled Worker Program

If you are a Nigerian living abroad who wants to move to the United States, the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) may be your best option. The FSWP lets people who have worked before but have no ties to Canada or job offers apply for permanent residence.

The program is for skilled workers who can use their education, work experience, language skills, and other human capital factors to make a living in Canada. In particular, candidates must meet the minimum requirements listed below:

1. One year of continuous full-time or equivalent paid work experience in a skilled occupation classified under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) TEER category 0, 1, 2, or 3 in the last 10 years; 2. Validated language ability equivalent to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 in English or French in all four skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking); and 3. Canadian educational credential (certificate, diploma, or degree) or foreign credential and

4. People who want to join the FSWP must get at least 67 points on the six immigration selection factors used by the IRCC.

5. Show that you and your family have enough money to live in Canada.
